April van Buren, MJE, has been teaching for 17 years. She was the NM adviser of the year in 2013 and served as JEA State Director in New Mexico for several years before moving to Madison, Wisconsin, where she is a current KEMPA Board member and also serves as the Broadcast Contest Director for the JEA Contest Committee. She advises an online student newspaper, the Tower Tales Yearbook and the monthly student news program, Tower TV, in addition to teaching graphic design, intro and advanced video, and other digital media classes at Madison East High School.
