Join the Kettle Moraine Press Association (KEMPA) this summer for their annual Journalism Camp! It is created for high school students with an interest in media. The camp focuses around four days of interactive workshops that discuss broadcasting, writing, sports media and photojournalism. Campers will get to work with award-winning professionals who help give constructive feedback of their school publications, as well as their personal portfolios. Work in state-of-the-art studios and labs as well as outdoors across the Whitewater campus.
There are nightly excursions and trips to the campus swimming pool, bowling lanes, athletic facilities and movie theater. The campers will also have the chance to compete for prizes in the KEMPA Cup. There will be the option to have fun at nights with friends in the dorms or to just attend for the daytime. All campers will receive a t-shirt, meals, and swag! CONNECTIONS is this year’s camp theme, highlighting the importance of making connections with our publications, school communities and more.
The UW-Whitewater campus is large, and is located in southeastern Wisconsin – about an hour from Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago. Campers can expect a safe environment. The camp is available to participants ages 12-18 at the time of the event.
Camp Dates: Sunday, June 22- Wednesday, June 25, 2025
