The Wisconsin Journalism Education Association, or WisJEA, is seeking a REMOTE paid intern for the 2024-2025 school year. You will be supervised by the WisJEA president and meet with him virtually on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to discuss goals, projects and more.

The Wisconsin JEA mission is to educate, promote and enrich journalistic activities and publications in secondary schools. We are focused on helping develop secondary journalism programs in Wisconsin and acting as an advocate for scholastic journalism in the state.

Internship duties:
- Update SNO (WordPress) website on a regular basis
- Create monthly digital newsletters
- Do social media SWOT analysis and audit and come up with suggestions and plan how to grow and track social media presence.
- Promote organization, webinars, meetings, scholarship, etc. through social media, website and newsletter
- Grow WisJEA contact list of newspaper and yearbook advisers from high schools throughout the state by reaching out to programs statewide and managing a database
- Create flyers, brochures, etc. as needed
- Other occasional duties as determined by WisJEA supervisor
Preference will be given to students who agree to work the entire school year.

Hours and pay
Student intern will be paid $12 an hour for approximately 5 hours a week each semester, or up to $750 each semester or $1,500 for the 2024-25 school year.
