The Wisconsin State Assembly voted to pass the New Voiced Bill unanimously on Nov. 7. The bill now heads to the Senate where it will be voted on by the Senate Committee on Universities and Revenue then on the whole Senate floor.
AB 551 aims to protect the First Amendment rights of student journalists by strengthening protections and preventing censorship.
